Professional Beauty India once again delivered the biggest beauty expo the industry has ever seen with a record number of exhibitors that drew huge crowds. The two-day event on 18th and 19th September 2017 attracted 135 exhibitors from across 21 countries. Visitor numbers hit 16,782 leaving the venue packed on both days.
Being the first international beauty expo to firmly establish itself in India, the show continues to grow as the hub for brands to enter India to find distributors and launch their new product lines. Some of the new brand launches at PB Mumbai this year included Alan Truman, Andis, Beardo, Cadive, Depot, Fasderma, Ferrarucci, Footlogix, GlamGals, Graftobiian, Histomer, Kent, Mimesis, Orly, Rene Furterer, Tangle Teezer, Vismara and many more. Joining them were industry regulars Asbah, B’Desir, Beauty Essentials, Beauty Planet, Blossom Kochhar, Body Care, Ekta Cosmetics, Esskay, Kryolan, Love Your Nails (LYN), LTA, Lure Nails, Marc, Nail Pro, NYX, Olivia, Ozone, Repechage, Serenite, TIGI and Wahl who exhibited their latest range of products and services at the show.
The event delivered unparalled opportunities for the industry to come together and build powerful connections- from international and domestic business development, to providing insights and inspiration through educational seminars and conferences, to connecting brands to regional distributors and customers ultimately allowing networking with the industry’s elite movers and shakers.
New launches by Professional Beauty at the show included the industry business seminar, Salon Management Congress (SMC) in association with Beaute Espace Media conducted for the first time in India. The congress focused on delivering knowledge exchange to attendees empowering salon owners and managers to create long-term viable businesses. Industry veterans at The SMC included keynote speaker Lydia Sarfati, CEO, Repechage; Vikram Bhatt, Founder and Director, Enrich Salons and Academy; Samir Srivastav, CEO, Jean-Claude Biguine; Natasha Naegamvala, Director, Nalini of Nalini and Yasmin; Sahil Gupta, CEO, BodyCraft Spa & Salon; Vaijyanti Bhalchandran, YLG; Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO, Lakme; Aby George Philip, General Manager, Matrix & Cheryl’s amongst other business leaders. The speakers delivered empowering sessions and shared their real-life experiences, advice and benchmarking information to help professionals identify and overcome the challenges of running a beauty and spa business today.
The second edition of Salon India returned with a bang yet again playing host to some of India’s most inspiring hairdressers. A platform focused on bringing together the hair stylist community to learn from leading educators about latest trends and skills, Salon India this year saw over 400 hair professionals gather over the two days. The artist line-up included celebrity artist Savio John Pereira; Seema V. Jerajani; Dharmesh Hingorani (DODO), Educational Director, Depot India; German Munster, Ambassador, Depot; Vipul Chudasama; Ralph Boss, Creative Director, TIGI and Andy Cheong, Regional Education Director, TIGI who took over the Salon stage showcasing some of the newest hair trends of the season.
TIGI also hosted their Backstage Heroes Hair Competition at Salon India across 7 categories with 31 finalists recognising and rewarding some of the most talented hair talent from across the country.Judging the competition was an eminent panel of industry leaders; including Kapil Bhalla, Make-up Artist; Nandita Mahatani, Fashion Designer; Nonita Kalra, Editor, Harper’s Bazaar; Seema V. Jerajani, Consultant and Educator; Bina Punjani, Hairstylist and Apeni George, Hairstylist.
For the nail community, Professional Beauty continued to grow its Nail Premier League (NPL), an exclusive national level nail competition for nail artists and technicians to showcase their fantastic designs and techniques. With 8 categories for nail professionals to enter whether a pro or novice, the competition gave everyone in the industry an opportunity to participate and put their skills to the test in front of an expert jury panel.
The icing on the cake for 2017 was CIDESCO, the renowned Swiss accreditation association hosting their 65th Annual World Congress in India for the first time at the show. The theme for the congress was “Nurture by means of nature” and saw renowned speakers such as Ronelle Iten, Biochemist; Dr. Apratim Goel, Cosmetic Dermatologist; Avni Amlani, Business Director, Dermalogica and Laser Specialist and Diana Howard, VP of Global Education of Research and Development for the International Dermal Institute discuss latest industry research and innovations revolving around green revolution and organic beauty.
Professional Beauty India cemented its position as the beauty, hair and wellness industry’s leading tradeshow bringing together thousands of visitors from across the world to not only witness latest innovations and trends presented by exhibitors but also participated in practice-oriented, educational seminars across the PB live stage, NPL, Salon India and SMC.
